Holistic Abundance
Jennifer Schmid
“Abundance” has become a buzz word in the last several years. Movies like The Secret and entrepreneurs such as Brendon Burchard, Mike Dooley, and Cherie Healey have encouraged a new perspective on how to attain what you want in this life.
A lot of people equate wealth and abundance with money and material goods. The dream house. The sports car. The luxury vacations. This is the pinnacle of the American Dream, right?
We all know that material wealth is only a single facet of abundance.
Yet in our quest to achieve that wealth and abundance, we often sacrifice other areas of our lives — our physical health or personal relationships, for example.
Our lives get out of balance.
Sometimes, abundance itself can bring new stress and imbalance. An abundance of food -- even healthy foods -- can lead to overweight and obesity, which brings with it a new set of problems and a likely decline in physical health. Or maybe we give up personal hobbies and passions for lack of time, and our spirit suffers for lack of nourishment.
So often we sacrifice our health and well-being for our children, our spouse, our work. We forget about self-care — feeding ourself physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. It’s so easy to lose the balance!
"The New Economy"
The 21st century has brought about a new awakening in consciousness, and with it, a shift in how we perceive abundance. (Brendon Burchard calls it “The New Economy.”) It’s no longer only about personal wealth, it’s about making a positive difference in the world, no matter what your profession: as a teacher, service member, engineer, mortgage officer, healer, minister, parent, volunteer, you name it. It doesn’t matter how you serve, just that you are using all of your gifts.
I have a friend who is a mortgage broker. He absolutely loves his job, because he gets to make people’s dreams come true (especially with interest rates as low as they are!).
At the same time, I have a few clients who are considering transitioning careers, because where they are does not nourish their soul. On the contrary, it stresses them out.
I see a whole new generation of young people traveling to Africa, South America, Asia, feeling called to serve those who have less.
Of course, that’s easy when you’re young, without obligations and responsibilities, not yet juggling rent and family and coworkers. What about the rest of us who have family, businesses, obligations, and partnerships to consider?
Embody your purpose
You have to be willing to invest in yourself to create abundance. The ideal is to fully EMBODY YOUR PURPOSE: to nourish all parts of yourself so that you can serve the greater good and experience abundance in all areas of your life.
Holistic health leads to holistic abundance.
Isn’t that a sexy concept?
Imagine being able to take yourself to the next level in whatever area of your life you choose because you are healing yourself in some way, whether a hormonal imbalance, stress and exhaustion, poor diet, a toxic personal relationship, an unfulfilling career, or even an old trauma. You’d be surprised how much a concussion from 20 years ago can impact your health today.
Ideally, you are slowly healing yourself at every level.
Holistic health leads to holistic abundance.
This is not the health care of the future. This is right here, right now. It’s totally possible. You get to invest in yourself, and the positive ripple effects are endless.
Are you ready to take it to the next level? Because I'm ready to take you there.
